                                   5 hours 30mins performance
Untitled Grüntaler9 at the Art Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday 4 April 2013 12pm to 5.30pm
                                      8 hours performance
ART TRA Grüntaler9 at the Art Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday 6 April 11am to 7pm

He walks into a large open space and lies down on a 120 cm by 120 cm raised platform. On one end of the raised platform is an A2 piece of
paper and over the paper spread out is pencil lead, which has been individually taken out of the pencils. He starts by picking up one of the
pencil leads and making a mark, when he stops making the mark he puts the pencil lead down, and picks up a different pencil lead. He does
this for the whole 5 hours 30mins durational performance while lying half of the body on the platform and half of the body on the floor.

ART TRA is an 8 hours durational performance. The performance takes place within the confines of a 240 cm x 500 cm raised platform. He
spends the whole 8 hours performance writing on the platform on his knees. He writes with his left hand the opposite hand that he normally
uses to write. His every day writing hand is immobilized behind his back. He writes from right to left, and then from left to right, and therefore
he is always writing as he is moving. When he finishes one layer of writing, he does another layer. Over the time, he covers the platform with 3
layers of writing. The words he is using are separate and placed at random. First performed in 2008.
